We moved to the United States in 1998, ready to build a new life. Like many families in the Bay Area, we built our careers as salaried professionals in the technology industry, working hard and planning for the future. In 2003, we bought our first home—a milestone that would eventually lead us toward a new passion.
In 2010, we began investing in real estate. Over the years, our investments took us across San Jose, San Francisco, Mountain House, and the Central Valley. Each property brought new decisions, different challenges, and valuable lessons. We felt that including real estate in our portfolio strengthened our overall investment strategy and helped us work toward our long-term financial goals.
Our journey also included completing a 1031 exchange as part of our strategy to defer capital gains taxes and reinvest in real estate. Going through that process ourselves deepened our appreciation for careful planning and the connections between property selection, financing, and tax considerations.
Through buying both our own home and investment properties, we learned to look beyond the purchase price. We came to appreciate the importance of location, cash flow, and having a clear plan for each property. Balancing these investments with our careers also helped us understand the questions and concerns that working professionals face.
Along the way, we worked with several real estate agents. While they helped us complete purchases and sales, we often wished for more education and guidance throughout the process. We wanted someone who would explain the options, welcome our questions, and help us understand how each decision fit into our broader goals. We were looking for a relationship that extended beyond closing.
That experience, combined with our shared passion for real estate, inspired us to begin this venture in 2025. Through Kapur Realty, we want to offer the kind of guidance we valued in our own journey: patient explanations, practical insights, and a genuine interest in each client's goals.
